Your Helambu Trek begins upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, where a representative from the Nepal Hiking Team will welcome you and assist with your hotel check-in. You’ll then receive a briefing on the trek ahead.

The trek starts with a one-hour drive to Sundarijal, the entry point of the Helambu region. From there, you’ll trek to Chisapani, then continue through villages like Kutumsang and Tharipati. Key stops include Melamchi Gaon, a quaint village, and Tarkeghyang, a larger settlement known for its spiritual monasteries.

The journey includes a hike to Ama Yangri, the trek’s highest and most revered viewpoint, before descending to Sermathang. The trek concludes with a final drive back to Kathmandu, followed by your departure flight the next day.

This is also an opportunity to prepare for your upcoming trek, gather any last-minute supplies, and get a brief overview of the Helambu Trek itinerary from your guide. The evening can be spent exploring local markets or enjoying traditional Nepali cuisine as you begin your adventure in the heart of Nepal.

Your trekking adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Sundarijal, a picturesque town at the base of the Shivapuri National Park. The drive takes about an hour, offering views of lush landscapes and rural life. Upon arrival in Sundarijal, you will start your trek towards Chisapani. The trail ascends through verdant forests, including rhododendron and oak, and offers stunning views of the surrounding hills. Chisapani, your destination for the day, is a charming village known for its serene environment and panoramic mountain views, providing a perfect introduction to the trek.

From Chisapani, your trek continues towards Kutumsang, a culturally rich village inhabited by Tamang people.
